Alex Casper is a young organizer from Pennsylvania. Alex has served the working class movement in many capacities. They have served 4 years in the Philadelphia Department of Planning and Development, on the Our Philadelphia Steering Committee for 4 years. Alex also filled in as Inspector of Elections in Philadelphia Ward 47-14, and served in the Pennsylvania Consumer Service Center in the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services. In August 2024, Alex was ran over by a car in a crosswalk on Aramingo Avenue and Wheatsheaf Lane, leaving them with several injuries, and having to resign from their roles of public service to seek healthcare. Alex went homeless by November 23rd. Alex moved to Bradford, PA in December and is currently serving as Secretary for the Green Party of Pennsylvania. Alex is currently running to serve Bradford’s 1st Ward as Judge of Elections.

Alex supports values of democracy, believing everyone has the right to self determination and a fair and impartial vote. Alex supports democratic reforms through ballot measures and home rule charter amendments to create county councils and elect officials through proportional ranked choice voting. Alex also opposes the electoral college.

Alex supports values of peace, supporting the divestment from military. Alex believes that military should not be used on civilians like they currently are. Alex also believes municipalities should not be invested in weapons of war and in foreign nations committing acts of war.

Alex supports social justice for the marginalized. Alex opposes mass incarceration, and deportations. Alex supports open borders, and welfare for migrants. Alex supports financing services with a preferential option to serve people in the most need of help first. Alex wants to end homelessness and ban evictions for cases not involving violence in the home. Alex supports women’s right to choose to terminate a pregnancy at any point of the pregnancy, and as a catholic, understands we have a social responsibility to better serve and support families with food, healthcare, housing, employment, parental supports, and daycare services, and increase funding and services to support current and former foster youth if we expect mothers to follow Christian social teachings on sin. Alex supports LGBTQIA+ rights, including comprehensive options for LGBTQIA+ inclusive healthcare. Alex as a disabled person wants to further penalize corporations and service providers who do not provide reasonable modifications for people with disabilities inclusion.

Alex supports protecting our environment and understands everything we do in our environment has an impact on everything else. Alex supports bans to fracking, and wants to increase subsidies for municipalities to clean up after extracted industries leave. Alex wants to ban clear cutting, wants to support reintroduction efforts for endangered and extirpated species. Alex wants to ban pesticides, herbicides, and regulate the use of chemical fertilizers. Alex wants to undam Pennsylvania waterways and regulate indoor and outdoor pollution. Alex also wants to create a statewide sanitation and recycling program to offer pickup services in every municipality of Pennsylvania so working families no longer burn plastic and waste in rural townships.

Alex is prioritized on supporting and expanding services, they will support a federal and state jobs guarantee, public housing, public transit, and healthcare expansions. Alex believes every municipality should have jobs available in the public workforce guaranteed to every person who needs employment. Alex believes public services should be celebrated and be the backbone of a municipal economy. It should be treated like they highest of honors to serve in roles from diving busses, to teaching children, to being mayor of a community. Alex supports publicly run services with publicly elected boards. Alex wants to make public education, healthcare, transit, etc, free, and Alex wants to expand welfare programs like housing and food stamps.

Alex supports rights to own a firearm, but supports increases in regulation for firearm storage, penalties for leaving guns and ammunition unlocked, and regulating ammunition.

While Alex is committed to serve in minor roles for their community, Alex is committed to life of an advocate for their neighbors and will uplift policies that bring the most positive benefit to their neighbors in their community.
